I think the recommendation was switching pfsense/opnsense to using broadcast by default Under the wan interface settings, under dhcp client configuration, select advanced, then presets freebsd default, and under option modifiers add. That was for a your fios tv plan with masn included as one of the five channel selections. With previous fios tv equipment you were able to use your own router using a moca adapter for your router, but the new equipment (android tv steaming box + vsm4100atv) from verizon will only work with a verizon router.
