Ohio union worker jailed for embezzling more than $185,000

A Jackson Township woman who pleaded guilty to embezzling $185,000 from an educational facility in Stark County, Ohio, now faces a jail sentence. According to the Canton Rep, the potential offenders, organizations can use AP audits to prepare for accurate AP recoveries

According to a previous article by the source, Gutwein forged checks, bank statements and letters, all without the authority of the association, which ultimately raised a red flag with the IRS. Before her arrest, she had no prior criminal record. 

Gutwein will serve jail time and has received three years of probation. According to the source, she must also complete 200 hours of community service, is required to seek court approval before accepting positions with financial responsibilities and risks a stay in prison if she violates any of the terms of her sentence.
